About the Festival

Folk with a View is to be held at Kiama Showground on 22-24 September 2023.

The festival will feature an outstanding line-up of artists, with performances by national and local artists, dancers, poets, storytellers and street artists. It will attract visitors from near and far including many who have not been to the area before. All of the action on Friday / Saturday and Sunday will be at the Kiama Showground this year, with ticketed concerts at The Pavillion at the Showground, andthe adjoining Anglican Hall and Old Anglican Church

We seek involvement by companies and organisations who will support the festival and who will gain from the exposure of being involved with this signature event. There are a variety of sponsorship packages available, from major naming rights to Friends of the Festival.

Key Points about the Running of the Festival

The Festival is run by a voluntary committee from the Illawarra Folk Club, assisted by many local volunteers. The number of volunteers swells during the Festival, but there is a lot of preparation to be done before it starts. The Festival provides an opportunity to celebrate our regional and Australian culture, heritage and ever developing traditions in an enjoyable and social manner. Through sponsorship, we are able to maintain reasonable ticket prices and attract more people to the Festival.

The Illawarra Folk Club, presenter of FOLK by the SEA, believes that Kiama and Illawarra regional businesses can achieve real benefits from
involvement including:

• Increasing visitation to the region which has benefits for all businesses,
• Providing a real and ongoing focus for holiday activities in the region,
• Developing a strong image of involvement with the local community,
• Gaining respect and credibility as a good corporate citizen that supports community celebrations,
